This website, maximeruhaya.com, is run by Maxime Ruhaya. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. I keep it short because the site collects very little.
What I collect
Contact form. If you send a message, the form asks for your name, email address, optionally your organisation or brand, what the message is about, and the message itself. I use this only to read and reply to your message. The form sends it to me by email; it is not published anywhere and not added to a mailing list.
Server logs. Like almost every website, the hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. The contact form uses a hidden anti-spam check that does not track you.
YouTube videos and thumbnails
Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube’s image servers. A video player only loads when you press play, and it uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you press play, or follow a link to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn, that platform’s own privacy policy applies.
How long I keep messages
Messages stay in my email inbox for as long as the conversation is useful. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
Your choices
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, in line with applicable data protection law, including Rwanda’s law on the protection of personal data and privacy. Use the contact page to get in touch.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
